Baishali’s experience of over 18 years’ spans across public policy, organisation and business development, strategic planning, fundraising, communications, journalism, public relations and training. She is former Director of Development, Strategy, Communications and Academy at Centre for Civil Society (CCS), India’s leading think tank and Founding Trustee of India Institute that promotes dignity, choice and enterprise through innovative research, evidence-based policy advocacy and litigation for free market policies.

Bhuvana Anand
Co-founder
Bhuvana has 16+ years experience in public policy research, and has worked extensively alongside government and civil society partners on creating an enabling environment for enterprises, regulatory simplification, and reforming welfare programmes. She is the former Director, Research at the Centre for Civil Society. She led the thinking and execution of multiple high-visibility research publications including 100 Laws for Repeal, Doing Business in Delhi, Anatomy of K-12 Governance, Playbook for reforming Indian agriculture, and Regulation for New Realities.

Shubho Roy
Research Director
Shubho Roy is a JSD candidate at the University of Chicago. He works in law, economics and public choice theory. Prior to joining the University of Chicago, Shubho was a researcher at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy in New Delhi, India. His work involved legal and policy research in financial regulation, capital control, bankruptcy, and health laws.

Rohan Joshi
Policy Engagement Director
Rohan Joshi was formerly a Senior Fellow at Centre for Civil Society where he headed Project Bolo English . He previously headed the Policy Research at the think tank. Rohan also worked as
Director, Skill Development, Governance and Livelihoods, Government of Maharashtra. Rohan specialises in government engagements and policy reforms.
Suyog Dandekar
Junior Research Fellow
Suyog has a doctorate in Economics from the University of Hyderabad. His thesis was on “Analysing Cooperation in Institutional Settings: Illustration of Two Institutional Arrangements”. Until recently, he was teaching at the University of Hyderabad as a guest lecturer at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Sargun Kaur
Team Lead
Sargun’s research focus is on building and construction standards and permit regulations in India. She holds a Master’s degree in Political Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Delhi. She has previously interned with leading civil society organisations, including Centre for Civil Society (CCS), and the Kailash Satyarthi Foundation.
Abhishek Singh
Team Lead
Abhishek’s current research focus is in the areas of legally sanctioned discrimination against women as jobseekers, and improving Ease of Doing Business for MSMEs. He graduated from Symbiosis Law School, Pune in June 2021. He finds Constitutional Law and Administrative Law to be the most interesting areas of study in the field of law.

Sirjan Kaur
Strategy and Development Associate
Sirjan works on the organisation’s strategy, business development, and communications. Previously, she was also a part of our research team working on labour regulations. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Delhi. She has previously interned at the Office of Municipal Councillor, South Delhi, and WomenForIndia.
Prisha Saxena
Strategy and Communications Associate
Prisha’s research currently focuses on private school regulations and labour regulations in India. She has a degree in B.A. (Honors) in Economics from the University of Delhi and is a graduate of the Data and Policy Summer Scholar Programme, Harris School of Public Policy, UChicago. Prisha previously interned with Pratham Educational Foundation, and Ernst and Young India.

Rohan Ross
Senior Legal Analyst
Rohan has a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (BA) LLB from Christ University, Bengaluru and a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from National Law School of India University, Bengaluru. He has previously interned at Global Trade Observer and the Observer Research Foundation. Rohan’s research interests include prison reform and grassroots-led economic growth.
Abhishree Choudhary
Research Analyst
Abhishree completed her Bachelor’s in Political Science from St. Xaviers college, Kolkata. She has a budding interest in policy research and analysis. After obtaining her bachelors, she has interned with various think tanks viz. Praja Foundation, Foundation for Democratic Reform, and PRS Legislative Research.
Bhavna Mundhra
Research Analyst
Bhavna graduated from NMIMS University in Mumbai with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. She worked as a Research Assistant at Trayas before joining as a full-time Analyst. Here, her research focuses on regulations on private schools, and building and construction in Indian states. She has previously interned at Money Management India.
Anandhakrishnan S
Research Analyst
Anandhakrishnan completed his Masters in Sociology from the University of Hyderabad. His undergraduation was in Electronics Engineering after which he worked in the area of cloud computing for a while before shifting into the development sector. He completed the India Fellow Social Leadership programme in 2019 where he was with Agragamee and interned with CPPR.
Eknoor Kaur
Research Analyst
Eknoor completed her Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of Delhi. She has a budding interest in policy research and analysis, along with exploring data management. Eknoor has previously interned with us at Trayas. She is currently studying occupational safety and health regulations and their associated costs on an employer.
